Architecturally Speaking — The Shape of Things to Come in Space Planning
Integrated Creative Campaign for Frontliners in Action Exhibition
Frontliners in Action: architects and the people create a better living environment, is a collective exhibition comprising Space to Imagine, Room for Everyone commissioned by DesignSingapore Council and curated by NUS; Limit/Limitless by MKPL; and Living Shelter by WY-TO and Pod Structures.
The exhibits were first mounted at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia (also known as the Venice Architecture Biennale) in 2016. This feature exhibition of Singapore Design Week 2017 ran from 3rd March to 8th April 2017 at the National Design Centre Atrium.
A juxtaposition of geometrical shapes, this design concept is a visual treat that immediately captures and penetrates the attention of the man on the street.
The keyword ‘interwoven’ is subtly and beautifully integrated into the design solution through intertwining various geometric shapes. This leads the audience into a visual journey that meanders like a needle pulling a thread. Woven together is the main headline of the exhibition, with the various geometrical shapes.
The interplay of geometrical shapes over the large swath of flat space mirrors Singapore’s ingenuity in urban planning over the last 50 years.
